Once a Pointer has cornered its game, it will freeze in place to point out its quarry. The modern Pointer is a mixture of several breeds including Foxhounds, Greyhounds, and Bulldogs. The English Pointer as it is currently known has only been around for about eighty years. Earlier Pointers became popular in England in the seventeenth century.
