     I first got Dog when his original owner lost his home and could not longer care for him. I named him Dog, mostly because he answered to that name. It is also a name for a character in Wolverine Origin comic book. He had a lot of bad habits. He was accustomed to being inside running amuck with other dogs in the home. He is also a escape artist. He knows how to climb the chain link fence, which made training difficult. He came around. Learned to walk on a leash, to sit and beg. He is a active dog and likes to leap into his owner's arms and smother him with kisses. Sadly, I had to find a better, more caring home for Dog. Dog's new owner told me they would care for him. He has kids who already met Dog and wanted him to join their family. It was hard seeing Dog walk away with his new family. Rips your heart out. I am glad to train him a bit and bring a disciplined animal to a loving family. I am a United States Marine. As a Veteran, once a Marine, always a Marine. And so is Dog... Thank you, Rescue Me.

     Lola, my beautiful Pointer Mix, was adopted within a few days of being posted on Rescue Me! She seems to be very happy in her new home. I wish I would have found Rescue Me sooner!

     This sweet dog was dumped on our farm in poor condition. He was underfed and very afraid. None of our no kill shelters would take him so we decided to foster him rather than send him to a kill shelter. After six months with us, he was in much better health physically and mentally and ready for a forever home. We posted Doc's picture and story on the Rescue Me site. Doc is a true tracking and trailing dog. As the deer began to run, so did Doc. While he was very content to come home before bedtime every night, we were told he was seen many miles away from our home by several deer hunters. Due to our proximity to a very busy highway and having already lost a coon hound chasing deer, I could not let that happen again. I called a no kill shelter and explained that we did not have a fence to keep him in and I was worried he would be shot by hunters or run over. They agreed to take him for a while. I did not take my post off Rescue Me and I am very glad. The shelter was very good and Doc was well cared for and loved, no one seemed to be able to meet his needs in our mostly suburban surrounding area. Over the next month, I received several emails about Doc from people who had found his picture and story on Rescue Me. They told me what they were looking for and I candidly explained Doc's strengths and weaknesses with each. One night driving home I got a phone call from a very nice man asking about Doc. His family had, unfortunately, lost their dog previously. They had a sporting dog before and knew the responsibilities that go along with them. They all decided they wanted to rescue a pet and Doc really seemed to fit the bill, the only problem was that he was over five hours away. I didn't think anything would come of it; over 300 miles is pretty far for a dog. This past weekend the same man called me again. He said he wanted me to know he and his wife had driven over five hours to adopt Doc and were on their way back home with Doc snuggled with his new mom all the way. His new dad said they were already in love with him. I am proud to say that after less than two months, such a sweet dog has finally found his forever home with a loving family thanks to Rescue Me! Thank you so much for this service! I can rest easy now knowing Doc has found a good home. I couldn't have done it without Rescue Me! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

     Rescue Me helped us to find a forever home for Buddy at a farm about an hour and a half away. We always thought that Buddy would love to be on a farm and we were right. The family called today and said that Buddy had discovered the rooster. But no harm, no foul. HA HA. We have found homes for dozens of animals, dogs and cats and even a chicken (no kidding). Rescue Me has been a great help in our mission to find homes for neglected or abandoned animals.

     Ty is the third pointer we have adopted, two were from Rescue Me! We do this because I had another English Pointer named Ty that passed a few years ago. He was a man's dog, and my best friend. I will always miss him. I rarely did anything outdoors without him. I do this to honor his memory, and because I love these dogs. So, when I saw an English Pointer named Ty in need, no way could we let him be put down. He is adjusting to having six acres to roam with the other dogs, all girls. He is happy, and is already being spoiled. I never thought I would call out Ty Doggy ever again, but, I am. He follows me the moment I walk outside, which is really cool. Something tells me there is a dog named Ty in his ear, telling him what to do. I encourage everyone to look at these dogs. I wish we could take them all.

     Soma is at German Short-haired Pointer Rescue Houston Branch as of this past Saturday with a foster mom, lots of cats, and a dog. Mary said she is doing great, loves her walks, and was being vetted yesterday (she and I agreed on the stress/infection incontinence). I also contacted English Pointer Rescue to no avail. GSP will contact them and took Soma due to the emergency nature of my request. My belief is they are angels sent to help Soma and Me. Thank you for contacting me, who you are, and what you do.      I found a home for LEXI an English Pointer the morning after listing her. She was rescued from a Cannon AFB in NM. Her owner deployed and his wife would not take her back to NY. My friend had her for 4 months and could not place her near the AFB. She ask me to bring her back to ABQ area and try here. Oddly enough I placed her with a retired Military man who had 2 already. Now I have listed my shiba inu Instead of sitting in the hot sun with the adoptathon at Sam's club. This is going to be my go to site from now on. I am retired with way toooooo much time on my hands and dogs are nicer than people.

After posting on your site we received a call from a very nice couple with a young son looking for a good family dog and the meet went very well.
