|Animal ID: 1019Becker (male)|
Hello there!! My name is Becker. I am 1 year old and I weigh about 65 lbs. I was originally adopted from the pound in March when I was 7 months old. My family loved me and tried to keep me, but me being the young fellow I am, was still in my puppy chewing stage and I could be destructive at times. I would chew things up when they weren't paying attention to me and sometimes I would eat the stuff I chewed up. I didn't really know I was doing wrong. I am still just a big goofy pup... Just a typical hound pup in every aspect. I am smart but still need some training. I listen pretty well, but again, HOUND! Sometimes the fun and smells get the better of me. I am WONDERFUL with all of the other dogs! I am great with all sizes of dogs! I am a happy boy! I love to play!! I am the perfect playmate for other dogs. Here at the pound, I often go in the play yard with up to 12 other dogs of different sizes and I am the perfect playmate for all of them. All of the other dogs just love me!! I am kind of a 'social butterfly' so to speak. I am also very friendly with people! My family said that I was housebroken. I have been a really good boy here at the pound. I haven't chewed up any of my toys or my blanket, even at night when I am left alone unsupervised in my kennel. I would do best in a home with fenced in yard so that I can get plenty of exercise. I would also strive in a home with another playful dog to help keep me busy. The pound advises that I be kept in a crate when I am not being supervised to help keep me in trouble. If you're looking for a stellar dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me! XoXo, Becker! I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER AUGUST 5, 2014. HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS. MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO. THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-05-00825Max (male)|
Max is still waiting for his forever home. He is a five year old Pointer Mix. I rescued him from severe neglect about one month ago. He is very friendly, UTD on shots and is neutered. I am rehoming him because he does not do well with cats and I have older hospice rescue dogs that I have taken from Trumbull County Dog Pound. Recently he killed one of my cats, so he needs to be in a cat free home. He is a great dog and knows basic commands. He is currently at a kennel. I can't keep him for long. I don't want to take him to the pound, but I can't bring him back to my house. Please help. You can call me at 330-888-2964. I am asking for a $20.00 rehoming fee. (Less)

Gwendolyn was adopted as a puppy and recently returned at the age of 1. She was too energetic for her family. The shelter has her listed as hound/shar pei but hound was not one of the choices, so who knows what she is mixed with?! We do know she is a sweet girl who would love an active family. She's still a pup and would benefit from some obedience training. Who wants to take this gorgeous girl home?

Thanks for checking out my profile! I was pulled from a shelter at the last minute. I had a skin issue and no one wanted to adopt me. Lucky for me I landed in an Ohio foster home with Three Sisters Pet Rescue/Ohio Hound Rescue and I am healthy with current vaccinations, neutered and current on my flea/heartworm medications. I am a playful guy with other dogs my size, would need a fenced yard and taking me to dog obedience classes would help me walk on a lead better. I am learning to sleep in my crate each night and trying to understand the word 'sit' for a treat. If you are looking for a young and active boy who is quite outgoing then please submit an application so my foster mom can answer your questions. Thank you, Benjamin. (Less)

Pointer Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The English Pointer is a proud, elegant hunting dog. Pointers are good with children and devoted to their families. Pointers need to be with people and need to be socialized as puppies. Some Pointers can be skittish or aloof. Pointers need plenty of exercise and activity to be happy and healthy. This breed is best for a home with lots of open land.
