    Vada (vay-da) is around 1-2 years old, so still pretty young. She's a very healthy dog with lots of energy. She knows basic commands like sit, shake, and stay. Vada is a wonderful dog and we hate to see her go, but she just has too much energy for us to handle right now. Please note that she does not get along very well with other dogs or cats, she is a strong prey drive. Could be a very good hunting dog! She may be able to handle children but no small, young children. She likes to jump on you, so that would be my only concern. We are trying to teach her not to.     Pointer Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The English Pointer is a proud, elegant hunting dog. Pointers are good with children and devoted to their families. Pointers need to be with people and need to be socialized as puppies. Some Pointers can be skittish or aloof. Pointers need plenty of exercise and activity to be happy and healthy. This breed is best for a home with lots of open land.
