Rescue Me ID: 15-05-24-00393Nisha (female)
What a sweet gentle soul! Nisha is a lab/hound mix who is apx. 3-4 yrs old and weighs 55 pounds. She is the nicest most gentle girl. She's obviously been allowed to have multiple litters of puppies and we will make sure she never has to do that again! She would be a great addition to just about any family setting due to her temperament. She is crate trained and gets along with everyone. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who deserves a second chance in life, this is your girl. TracysDogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped, and our adoption fee is $300. This dog IS available for 'Pre-Event Adoption', so complete an application as soon as possible. TracysDogs will be at the PetSmart in Wheaton, IL on Saturday, June 13th, but please note that not every dog can attend this event. |Rescue Me ID: 15-05-16-00073REEBA (female)|
Breed guess -Pointer, Hound, Beagle, Jack Russell?? Reeba is a 1 1/2 to 2 year old very sweet girl! She came to Illinois form a high kill shelter and surprised us with some puppies she brought along! She delivered the pups and was an amazing mom! Now that the babies are finding their homes, it's time for Reeba to find hers. She is very sweet and is doing amazing in her in a foster home with children and other dogs, however she has not been exposed to cats so we are unsure how she would react to them. She is doing great with house breaking, but she is hesitant to go out when it's storming. We don't think that she had much of a life seems to be learning how to be a dog. She may not have had much socialization with people or dogs when she was very young and she is learning new things every day. She does well on a leash but would really like to have a fenced yard to run in. Standard adoption fee is $295 (cash or check) and includes spay/neuter at our participating vets, immunizations/shots up to the point of adoption, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email email@example.com for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-09-00467Turkleton (Turk) (male)
Turk is a 7-year-old mixed-breed dog. We are not sure what breeds he is, but I would guess there is pointer or dalmatian in there somewhere. He does have a very dominant personality and must be with an experienced dog owner. He does have aggressive tendencies with other dogs, and while he is generally a fantastic dog that loves to jump up and give kisses, he has bit before (approximately 4 years ago - NO repeats whatsoever). He is great with my toddler; however, I would not feel comfortable placing him in a house with kids. Even with his mature age, Turk is very high energy. He loves to run and play and even does well running next to a bike. We have noticed a more limited range of movement on his right hip lately, so we think he may have a touch of arthritis. He is slightly hard of hearing, as well, from chronic hematomas in his ears.Turk is such a loyal dog, and he truly is a fantastic companion who loves nothing more to curl up in a recliner and hang out. We hope to find a home for him where he will get the exercise and stimulation he needs to be happy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-24-00432Kirby (male)
Kirby is a gorgeous, goofy 6 month old pointer/hound mix! He's 100% sweetheart - he loves to play with other dogs, cuddle with everyone including young children, and he even likes cats. Kirby would thrive in an active home. He loves the dog beach, going for hikes, and playing the day away. He would excel at a training class because he's super smart, and his gentle, tolerant temperament makes him an ideal family pet. Kirby would do best in a home with another playful dog to keep him occupied and socialized.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-08-00349Petunia (female)
Petunia is a loving, friendly two year old tricolor shepherd mix. She came to us as a stray, and though she was never claimed, it's clear from her happy-go-lucky attitude with people that she was once loved and cared for. Petunia loves toys and cuddles, and she makes a great walking and hiking buddy. We believe Petunia was kept outdoors for most of her life - she's still very unsure of normal household situations. She was startled by a ceiling fan! For this reason, Petunia needs a home that's willing to take her to training and to be patient with her as she learns to be an inside pet for the first time in her life. Petunia is housebroken, and she's friendly with other dogs given a proper introduction. Because she's so new to home life, we wouldn't recommend her in a home with young children who may be too much for her. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-03-00155Jackson (male)
English Pointer. Pulled from a TN kill shelter Feb 2014. Very thin and HW +. Will be available after treatment. Also will be neutered before adopting out. Jackson must have been abused because he is VERY submissive. Approx 5 years old? Young teeth but grey muzzle. Vet said either a young boy who's had a rough life or an older guy with great teeth. Very shy but sweet. Loves to be petted. Not house trained as far as we know. Located IL IL near St. Louis, MO.

Rescue Me ID: 13-07-17-00104Tide (male)
Are you an athletic person who loves a nice solid outgoing dog? Tide is a very handsome boy, weighs about 70 pounds, about 1 year old, heartworm negative and current on all shots and health care. He is a very solid, fun loving, energetic dog who can wear out any dog here playing, except a pit mix we had who is also higher energy. At the same time when crated he is perfectly well behaved, quiet and calm. He loves to sniff about and seems to have potential for a search and rescue dog or something to use his skills to advantage. Plus he is a very confident dog and loves to hop in the car, or go anywhere you want to go which would be perfect for a working dog. He is crate trained, never potties in the crate or kennel. He was rescued from a very high kill shelter in AL, where many dogs never make it out. I seen his face and just didnt want him cut short when hes still a pup with SO much potential! He will need exercise to be a good dog, either playing with another dog (med or large he loves to rough house with them!) or jogging, agility, tagging along a bike. This dog is athletic and needs an active family, no couch potatoe here (although after play time I am sure he would love couch time!!) He knows sit and he loves attention. His favorite thing other then playing is to flop over on his back so you can rub his belly! He wants to meet anyone who has visited and so many people have been very impressed with how handsome he is, but they were wanting a small dog. I havent worked with him much at all but he does learn fast! Please email for more photos he is solid built and acts very much like a lab! Contract and vet reference required to adopt. A friend has sponsored half of his adoption fee of $200. to help him find a great forever home! (Less)

Pointer Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The English Pointer is a proud, elegant hunting dog. Pointers are good with children and devoted to their families. Pointers need to be with people and need to be socialized as puppies. Some Pointers can be skittish or aloof. Pointers need plenty of exercise and activity to be happy and healthy. This breed is best for a home with lots of open land.
