Rescue Me ID: 17-01-30-00458Murphy (male)
Boasting a pair of black eye patches and a broad black nose, Murphy, the gentle giant, is motivated by one thing: LOVE. At 65 pounds, he's more lighthearted than lionhearted, and would rather pal around with his foster family than play with toys or play fetch. The consummate cuddle bug, so mellow and mild, Murphy was clearly once someone's much loved pet, well mannered and well behaved, fully leash and house (but not crate) trained, and a fine traveler in cars. He knows his 'sit' and 'come' commands, and when he's feeling energetic, easygoing Murphy morphs into effervescent Murphy, loping along on long walks, dallying with dogs at the dog park, and following his famous nose to see where it leads. An equal opportunity pooch who loves without question, he would LOVE the opportunity to love YOU forever. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-17-00163Carly (female)
Poor Carly was surrendered to a high-kill shelter down in Houston, TX 2/9/16, when her owners decided they no longer wanted her. She spent 48 days in the shelter before ending up on the euthanasia list because she had been there for so long. Thats when she was brought in through our rescue and brought to CO. She has been waiting for a place to call her own for so long and made so many improvement over the 9 months that we have had her. She is GREAT with kids of all ages. She knows many commands including sit, down, stay and come. She has made huge improvements on the leash, and just needs a little more work when she gets excited. She is fully house trained and has good house manners. She originally had some pretty sever separation anxiety, but can now be kenneled without hurting herself and left out for an hour or two here and there. We still think she would do best in a home that someone is around a lot, but she can be kenneled when needed. She loves to play and get get pretty talkative. Its adorable how she grumbles and woofs. She gets along with most other dogs when introduced slowly, but would not do well with another dominant dog. She is also the biggest cuddle bug ever and is happy to curl up with you wherever. This sweet girl needs a home so bad, but does not show well at our adopt events, so needs to have private meetings. If you would like to set up a time to meet Carly and hopefully give her a forever home you can fill out an application at aaanimalrescue.org. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-15-00052Roscoe (male)
I have been living in great home for several months after being rescued. I am house broken and love daily trips to the dog park. I really like it here but I need lots of space to run , I don't think I was bred to be a house pet. Looking for slightly larger good home.

Pointer Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The English Pointer is a proud, elegant hunting dog. Pointers are good with children and devoted to their families. Pointers need to be with people and need to be socialized as puppies. Some Pointers can be skittish or aloof. Pointers need plenty of exercise and activity to be happy and healthy. This breed is best for a home with lots of open land.
